September is here and our calendars are getting closer to the big day of the upcoming WordCamp Thessaloniki. And in middle of the enthusiasm that comes with the final stretch we thought:
We haven’t posted yet the main reasons of why a designer should attend WordCamp Thessaloniki 2019!
This is why I asked Popie Papanastasiou, Co-Founder and Graphic Designer at Nevma.gr, as well as a faithful follower of WordCamps, to answer the basic question of this series of articles we created:
“Really, what are the main reasons why anyone should come to WordCamp Thessaloniki 2019?”
Her answers were complete, informative and to-the-point. If you are involved in the Graphic Design industry I think they will give you an idea of whether a WordCamp is for you.
-Why do you think a Designer is worth attending a WordCamp?
WordCamp is an inspiration! In an event like that, a designer can learn a lot about new technologies of the internet, and talk to other design professionals. After all, WordPress is the platform that many of us design websites every day!
-As a person, can you say something specific that you have gained from joining WordCamp events?
Watching design related talks, I find that I’m not the only one approaching a project in a specific “weird” way. I get in touch with the way other colleagues are thinking and this is very helpful, whether it’s the same or a different way. Sometimes more helpful when it’s different!
-What do you enjoy the most in a WordCamp, even if it is not related to your professional identity?
Everyone involved in the event are in a tremendously positive mood. This is an event organized by the very same people who make up the WordPress community and they are happy to do so. We designers are sometimes confined to our ideas and ourselves. So having a friendly and open event is helping us widen our horizons. And we often meet in person, people that up until recently we only interacted with online!
