Ο Sergey Biryukov είναι WordPress developer στην εταιρία Yoast. Για περισσότερα από 10 χρόνια συνεισφέρει στο κομμάτι του κώδικα στον πυρήνα του WordPress, αναθεωρεί tickets και patches στο Trac, μεταφράζει το WordPress στα ρωσικά και βοηθά σε φόρουμ υποστήριξης.
Σπούδασε Εφαρμοσμένα Μαθηματικά στο Southern Federal University (πρώην Rostov State University) στην πόλη Rostov-on-Don της Ρωσίας.
Ο Sergey έχει πάθος για το open source, το οποίο γεννήθηκε συνεισφέροντας στην τεκμηρίωση και τις διορθώσεις σφαλμάτων για ένα δημοφιλή διαχειριστή αρχείων το 2002. Δημιουργώντας μερικές ιστοσελίδες για το πανεπιστήμιο του και ανακάλυψε ένα αναπτυσσόμενο λογισμικό δημοσίευσης στο διαδίκτυο που ονομάζεται WordPress, το οποίο τράβηξε γρήγορα την προσοχή του λόγω της απλότητας, της επεκτασιμότητάς του και μιας εκπληκτικής κοινότητας. Μετά την ένταξή του στο Yoast το 2015, ο Sergey εργάζεται στο WordPress πλήρους απασχόλησης ως core committer και ενεργό μέλος πολλών άλλων ομάδων: Polyglots (που μεταφράζει το WordPress σε 200+ γλώσσες), Υποστήριξη (που βοηθά τους χρήστες να βρουν απαντήσεις στις ερωτήσεις τους) και Meta (που διαχειρίζεται το δίκτυο WordPress.org). Είναι επίσης συχνός ομιλητής σε WordPress συνέδρια, που ονομάζονται WordCamp, στη Ρωσία και την Ευρώπη.
Sergey Biryukov is a WordPress developer at Yoast. For more than 10 years he’s been contributing code to WordPress core, reviewing tickets and patches on Trac, translating WordPress into Russian, and helping out on support forums.
He studied Applied Mathematics at the Southern Federal University (formerly Rostov State University) in Rostov-on-Don, Russia.
Sergey has a passion for open source, which started with contributing documentation and bug fixes for a popular file manager in 2002. While creating some websites for his university, he discovered a growing web publishing software called WordPress, which quickly grabbed his attention due to its simplicity, extensibility, and an amazing community. Giving back to the community was a natural thing for him, so he has started translating WordPress into Russian, answering questions on support forums, and participating in core development.
After joining Yoast in 2015, Sergey is working on WordPress full time as a core committer and an active member of several other teams: Polyglots (which translates WordPress into 200+ languages), Support (which helps users to find answers to their questions), and Meta (which manages the WordPress.org network). He is also a frequent speaker at WordPress conferences, called WordCamps, in Russia and Europe.
