Gerasimos has been working on web design since 2001. In 2007 he started working with WordPress and in 2012 he joined the sector of premium WordPress themes as a co-founder of CSSIgniter.com<\/a>. In his spare time he enjoys the extension \/ maintenance of his small collection of old (vintage we may say) computers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this lecture we will analyze the course of content creation in \nWordPress up to this date, the needs that have arisen and the reasons \nthat led the project to the decision to create a new experience. \nFinally, Gerasimos will present us the reasons why he thinks the \nGutenberg project is in fact the future, and why it will keep WordPress \nrelevant for the next 15 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

David works since more than ten years with PHP and WordPress and \ncreated his first WordPress site in 2005. As an open source enthusiast \nhe is a member of the Pluginkollektiv (pluginkollektiv.org) which \nmaintains popular plugins like Antispam Bee. He works for Inpsyde, the \nbiggest WordPress agency in Germany and a WordPress VIP partner. David \nalso published a book about developing plugins in WordPress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Antispam Bee is a popular spam fighting plugin for WordPress, being developed in the \u00abPluginkollektiv\u00bb after the initial author was not able no more to further maintain the plugin. Recently, Behat tests were added to test the plugin thoroughly before every release (actually, for every commit). This enables the developing team to automatically test all the functions of the plugin in different WordPress versions and ensure a smoother expierence, when updating the plugin. In this talk, David wants to introduce us to Behat tests, the Wordhat library and how we can automate tests using Travis, so we can use those techniques to deliver more stable products. Maria-Anna has been publishing since 2001, working in print, broadcast, and online media. Her new great love, copy-writing, came to her life in 2010 along with the financial crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She created the publiSHIT magazin<\/a>e as a case study for her dissertation on Journalism and New Media. This is a magazine in which all readers can be publishers, editors or storytellers. She believes, moreover, firmly that all people have at least one interesting story to tell. The stories that touch her are hosted on her \u00abHuffington Post\u00bb blog in Greece, while the stories column has been awarded at the Regional Media Awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has been awarded as Disruptor, meaning one of the 50 \n\u00abbrave-young\u00bb entrepreneurs in Northern Greece. For her, communication \nis the nicest art form and its\u2019 digital version, the strongest possible \nbet for content creators. As an Adult Trainer in IEK Alpha Journalism \nSector, tries to inspire the next generation of professionals to create \nthe right content. As a business associate, she tries to help them bring\n out all the elements that will inspire the public to connect \neffectively with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PubliSHIT magazine is a magazine (created on the WordPress platform) \nin which everyone can become editor-in-chief, editor or protagonist. \nIts\u2019 story began as a case study for Maria-Anna\u2019s diplomacy in \nJournalism and New Media, but continued subversive and won an award at \nthe Regional Awards 2017. In her presentation she will refer to the \nstory of the media in more details, participatory journalism, primary \ncontent, but also to the role of social media for an integrated digital \npresence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
